Aerial Photography
Aerial photos are available to the general public for the purpose of viewing and/or reproduction.
The Division of Statewide Planning maintains a series of aerial photographs which are available to the general public for the purpose of viewing and/or reproducing. The current inventory includes statewide series for 1939, 1952, 1962, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1981, 1988, and 1992.

These photos can be accessed through a variety of means.
- Original prints from the above mentioned series can be scanned for you at the Division of Statewide Planning, archival storage located at 235 Promenade Street, Suite 230, Providence, RI, between the hours of 8:30 to 3:30, Monday through Friday, by emailing Garth Hoxsie Quinn
- Low resolution electronic versions can also be viewed at:
- The 2002 - 2011 series can only be viewed electronically at RIGIS.
All aerial photos are sent out to a Statewide Planning approved vendor for reproduction. Customers are responsible for the payment, pick up and/or delivery of said reproductions. Original photos may not be borrowed. If original photos are required for a subpoena, they must remain in the custody of a staff member from Statewide Planning at all times. Reproductions can be certified stating that it is a copy of the archived original housed within Statewide Planning.
